About The Prop Store - The Climbing Academy

Open 7 days a week, The Prop Store offers drop-in climbing and courses in Maryhill with contemporary bouldering walls as well as roped walls for leading, top-rope and auto belay. Plus we have a public cafe, gym and training walls.

Watch Welcome to The Prop Store

Climbing is great for both physical and mental health.

No booking required

You can start bouldering anytime without doing a course, just complete a registration form, watch a safety video and off you go. It's super easy to get started, you don't even need muscles. They come over time! You can hire shoes on site. You can pay per visit or buy a pass to make savings. A TCA pass allows unlimited climbing at all TCA centres. There are 2 in Glasgow – in Kinning Park and Maryhill. If you would like to rope climb, we offer beginners courses.

Once you pay in you can stay for as long as you want. We open at 7am on weekdays for pre-work sessions.

Come visit for a coffee

The Prop Store has free parking (turn left when you enter the industrial estate) and a cafe which is open to the public for great coffee, Flavourbomb sandwiches, Yolk + Pod cakes, soup and pizza (including vegan options). You don't need to climb to use the cafe.

All ages welcome

You can start bouldering at any age as long as under 16s are supervised by a registered adult (over 18). Adults can supervise up to 2 under 16s per visit, to boulder or 2 under 18s to rope climb. We offer courses for those who wish to learn the ropes. Over 70s climb for free at every TCA centre. Contact the centre or ask at reception if you would like to arrange an auto belay induction. For little ones – please note that our kids climbing wall is at The Newsroom, in Kinning Park.

Climbing is a super welcoming sport that makes all abilities feel included. It's a great way to exercise in a sociable and supportive environment or to have family fun together. Read our new climbers page, pop in for a chat or read our intro articles on how to start bouldering or roped climbing.
