ShuttleWorks began life in the 1980's in what was originally the Cockburn Centre (now Sir Craig Reedie Badminton Centre) in Govan. We're now based at the National Badminton Academy in Scotstoun. As of June 2025 we're fully subscribed and aren't currently able to accept any new members, however, if you think you might want to join, let us know and we can add your name to our waiting list. Bob Ullah, who started ShuttleWorks, and has coached since then, is still involved in it's activities and all our qualified coaches have many years experience of playing and coaching. Lots of youngsters have enjoyed playing and improving their badminton at the club over the years.
There's a combination of badminton related games, playing badminton, and, for those who are keen to improve, the opportunity to learn and improve their badminton skills.
The first "come'n'try" session is free for anyone who wants to try playing with us. We supply the shuttles, but please bring your own racquet and drink. Please see our timetable which is on this page.
We give parents a consent form to be completed when a player decides to join the club.
Club fees are:-
£15 per month standing order & your place is reserved, or
£4 weekly pay as you go electronic payment using our "Book Now" system which is first come - first served. We must have your child's completed consent form before using this.
You can pay by whichever method is most convenient for you.
There's an annual Badminton Scotland Affiliation Fee for each player (currently £15) which we'll pay if you pay us by monthly standing order. Our consent form explains this, and the Book Now system in more detail.
