About Kelvingrove Community Tennis Club

We are a small community tennis club located in the beautiful surroundings of Kelvingrove Park. All our sessions are open to the public and we work in partnership with Glasgow Life to welcome and encourage people to play tennis at all levels.

If you fancy a game of tennis with an informal and welcoming group, Kelvingrove Community Tennis Club is for you! Our club has no paid membership and the core of our programme is adult social tennis which has a long history at Kelvingrove.

The current programme of adult social tennis consists of 2 sessions each week on Tuesdays from 6 - 8pm and Sundays from 2 - 4pm and the cost is £3 per session, no need to book, just turn up and pay the coach, cash only.

These sessions operate all year round, are open to the public on a pay as you go basis and one of our coaches Alan or Tony will be there to welcome you. We aim to create a fun, welcoming and supportive environment for adult players of all standards as well as organising friendly tournaments, charity fundraising and social events.

The club also delivers 2 separate weekly sessions of tennis coaching for adults with mental health problems and adults with learning disabilities outdoors at Kelvingrove Park in the Spring/Summer and indoors at the Gorbals Leisure Centre in the Autumn/Winter. Contact Carol Jones at kelvingrovetennis@hotmail.co.uk if you are interested in finding out more about these sessions. Our club is also a signatory to Scotland's Mental Health Charter for Physical Activity and Sport.

The Club is represented by two teams in the West of Scotland District Leagues. The teams practice regularly on Wednesday nights from 7pm and all intermediate and advanced players are welcome to participate. (Players must be affiliated to Kelvingrove with a current British Tennis Membership, available for free at http://www.lta.org.uk.)
